Alborixin is an inhibitor of the PI3K-AKT pathway that induces autophagy. It promotes the clearance of intracellular and extracellular amyloid-beta by upregulating autophagy-related proteins (such as BECN1, ATG5, ATG7) and enhancing lysosomal activity, thereby reducing amyloid-beta-mediated neurotoxicity. Alborixin shows potential for research in Alzheimers disease[1].
