Angiopoietin-like protein 8

ANGPTL8, a blood lipid regulator, controls serum triglyceride levels and orchestrates metabolic transitions during fasting and refeeding. Its role involves directing fatty acid storage in adipose tissue during the fed state. Though its precise mechanism is not fully understood, ANGPTL8 has been suggested to promote ANGPTL3 cleavage, interacting with ANGPTL3 for regulatory functions in lipid metabolism.
