To determine the functionality of the mouse version of this antibody, an ELISA was performed to test if this antibody was able to bind to antigen 14G2A. Furthermore, the antibody was also tested in a western blot on antigen 14G2A (EP1000082A2). A radioimmunoassay was performed to screen for anti-14G2a activity of the human version of this antibody. To assess the ability of the human version of this antibody to mediate a cellular immune response. Rabbits were immunized with 4B5. Then, irradiated Mel-21 cells were implanted. The result was induration at the site of the irradiated cells (Saleh et al., 1993; PMID: 8376782).
