The antibody binds to to 2,3-Dinor-6-keto-prostaglandin F1alpha with an IC50 of 2.2 pmol and an affinity (Kd) of 2.22 nM.

The antibody binds specifically to 2,3-Dinor-6-keto-prostaglandin F1alpha, a major urinary metabolite of PGI2 (prostacyclin). PG12 is a product of cyclooxygenase, and acts as a potent vasodilator and inhibitor of platelet aggregation. 2,3-Dinor-6-keto-prostaglandin F1alpha is a stable urinary metabolite of PGI2, and its levels in the urine can be measured using monoclonal antibodies in immunoassays, giving an indication of the levels of PGI2 produced in the body.
