Alpha-1B-glycoprotein

Alpha-1B-glycoprotein (A1BG) is a plasma protein and is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. A1BG contains 474 amino acids and has 5 intrachain disulfide bonds. A1BG is a plasma glycoprotein of unknown function with a molecular weight of 54.3kDa. It is encoded by A1BG gene and has certain similarity to the variable region sequence of immunoglobulin superfamily members. Overexpression of A1BG occurs in pancreatic fluid in patients with pancreatic duct adenocarcinoma.
