This antibody has been used to specifically bind alphavbeta5 in Western blots and in flow cytometry (Goodman et al, 2012), revealing that cell lines HT29 and A549 strongly express alphavbeta5, with lower levels of expression by the M21 and M24 lines. This antibody also specifically stains alphavbeta5 in FFPE (formalin fixed paraffin embedded)/TMA material (Goodman et al, 2012; Hebeta et al., 2014; Roth et l, 2013), while murine antibodies are typically unable to detect FFPE-embedded integrins.
