- Product NameAnti-bèta-Hydroxybutyryl-Histone H2B (Lys15) Rabbit mAb
- Delivery Days Customer5
- Antibody SpecificityAnti-bèta-Hydroxybutyryl-Histone H2B (Lys15) Rabbit mAb detects histone H2B only when it is bèta-hydroxybutyrylated at Lys15. This antibody has been shown to selectively recognize bèta-Hydroxybutyrylated H2B peptide at Lys15, but not the acetylated, crotonylated, butyrylated, or unmodified H2B peptide at Lys15.

- Scientific DescriptionHistones are subject to a variety of enzyme catalyzed modifications, including acetylation, methylation, Phosphorylatedrylation, ubiquitination, etc. bèta-Hydroxybutyrylation of lysine (Kbhb) is a newly identified histone marker that is enriched in active gene promoters. Histone Kbhb marks are dramatically induced in response to elevated bèta-hydroxybutyrate levels in cultured cells and in livers from mice subjected to prolonged fasting or streptozotocin-induced diabetic ketoacidosis. Histone bèta-hydroxybutyrylation represents a new epigenetic regulatory mark that couples metabolism to gene expression, offering a new avenue to study chromatin regulation and diverse functions of bèta-hydroxybutyrate in the context of important human pathophysiological states, including diabetes, epilepsy, and neoplasia.
