Overview

  • Supplier
    PTM BIO
  • Product Name
    Anti-bèta-Hydroxybutyryl-Histone H3 (Lys9) Rabbit pAb
  • Delivery Days Customer
    5
  • Antibody Specificity
Anti-bèta-Hydroxybutyryl-Histone H3 (Lys9) Rabbit pAb detects histone H3 only when it is bèta-hydroxybutyrylated at Lys9. This antibody has been shown to selectively recognize bèta-hydroxybutyrylated H3 peptide at Lys9, but not the acetylated, crotonylated, butyrylated, 2-hydroxyisobutyrylated, or unmodified H3 peptide at Lys9.

  • Scientific Description
Histones are subject to a variety of enzyme catalyzed modifications, including acetylation, methylation, Phosphorylatedrylation, ubiquitination, and numerous others. bèta-Hydroxybutyrylation of lysine (Kbhb) is a newly identified histone marker that is enriched in active gene promoters. Histone Kbhb marks are dramatically induced in response to elevated bèta-hydroxybutyrate levels in cultured cells and in livers from mice subjected to prolonged fasting or streptozotocin-induced diabetic ketoacidosis. Histone bèta-hydroxybutyrylation represents a new epigenetic regulatory mark that couples metabolism to gene expression, offering a new avenue to study chromatin regulation and diverse functions of bèta-hydroxybutyrate in the context of important human pathophysiological states, including diabetes, epilepsy, and neoplasia.
