- Application Supplier NoteTo characterise the binding of the mouse version of this protein to tyrosine-phosphorylated protein, immunoblotting on tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins from CEFs, NIH 3T3, Rat-1, HOS and 10W was performed. Furthermore, immunoprecipitation on the same samples was preformed. The antibody showed a reaction in both experiments and had cross-reactivity with the other species (Kanner et al, 1990; pmid:2110361). To confirm the specificity of the mouse version of this antibody, immunoprecipitation of cortactin was preformed using this antibody. Furthermore, the immunoprecipitated antibodies were western blotted with this antibody. The western blot showed bands corresponding to cortactin. Finally, invadopodia were immunostained for cortactin using this antibody and showed co-localization with antibody clone #170-10, which is also an anti-cortactin antibody (Bowden et al, 1999; pmid:10442635). The human small bowel was stained by immunohistochemistry using the mouse version of this antibody. It showed strong staining of the brush border and it was especially concentrated at the terminal web of the brush border microvilli (Wu and Montone, 1998; pmid:9742075). FAK(+/+) and FAK(-/-) mice cell lysates were western blotted using the mouse version of this antibody. It showed expression of the cortactin protein in both FAK(+/+) and FAK(-/-) cells (Ili et al, 1995; pmid:7566154). A431 human epidermal carcinoma cells were lysed and were then immunoprecipitated using the mouse version of this antibody. Cell lysates from A431 cells were also immunoblotted using this antibody (Crostella et al, 2001; pmid:11439336). The mouse version of this antibody was used to determine subcellular localization of cortactin in cortactin overexpressing clonal cell lines. Furthermore western blotting was preformed on on extracts of Ems1,Ems2, and Neo1 cells (Patel et al, 1998; pmid:9681820).
