  • Antibody Specificity
This antibody binds the CPS-500 antigen of sporozoites and merozoites of Cryptosporidium parvum. Cryptosporidium parvum is a coccidian parasite that infects intestinal epithelium and causes diarrheal disease in humans and other agriculturally important fo
  • Application Supplier Note
This antibody reacts with both sporozoites and merozoites of C. parvum in an indirect immunofluorescence assay. This antibody is capable of neutralizing sporozoites and merozoites in a time dependent manner (PMID: 2193057; 2473130). This antibody can be used for the identification of sporozoites, merozoites and CPS-500 antigen of C. parvum using western blot. The identification of sporozoite-neutralizing antibody was done using ELISA (PMID: 20086143). This antibody in combination with PLA2 or LL37 was also used in the generation of a biocide fusion proteins to kill C. parvum sporozoites in vitro and in vivo (PMID: 20086143).
