The antibody could be used as a broad epithelial marker for carcinoma detection, due to its reproducible and highly sensitive staining. The antibody stained practically all epithelial tumours, especially adenocarcinoma, but it is negative in hepatocellular carcinoma (Kwaspen et al., 1997; PMID: 9447381). Antibody RCK108 reacts with a 40 kDa keratin (Cytokeratin 19) in immunoblot.
