The antibody is specific for a broad set of O,O-diethyl organophosphorus pesticides (DOPs). DOPs are widely used for agricultural and landscape pest control. However, it has been reported that OPs are harmful to human health though food exposure.

The specificity of this antibody for a broad set of O,O-diethyl organophosphorus pesticides (DOPs) was confirmed by indirect competitive ELISA. IC50 of the Fab antibody was 135.7ng/mL. A standard curve showed that the linear detection range is 7.2ng/mL-861.7ng/mL. The Fab fragment detected soluble DOPs by western blot (Chen et al., 2018;PMID: 29734787). The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by competitive indirect ELISA analysis (Xu et al. 2010; PMID: 20958019). The original format of the antibody was linked to alkaline phosphatase (scFv-AP) and employed to develop a competitive direct enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cdELISA) for O,O-diethyl OPs in environmental and agricultural samples (Xu et al. 2012; PMID: 22533788).
