This antibody is specific for estradiol. Estradiol is an estrogen steroid hormone and the major female sex hormone. It is involved in the regulation of the estrous and menstrual female reproductive cycles.

A radioimmunoassay was preformed with the mouse version of this antibody on estradiol tracers (Rousselot et al, 1997; pmid:9201930).
