1D7 is capable of neutralizing all these FCV strains: F4, F1, F3, F5, F7, F6, F8, F11, F14, F25, FC, FR, FPL, CFI, FJ, 227, 337, and KDC. Does not recognise the denatured antigen.

This antibody binds and neutralizes the feline calicivirus. It is capable of detecting the virus in an ELISA. Neutralisation assays confirmed 1D7 neutralises feline calicivirus at 208.2 ng/ml. The Ki of 1D7 is 1 microg/ml. This antibody is not capable of recognizing the denatured FCV antigen in an immunoblot assay. It was considered that the 1D7 epitope might exist in a conserved region on the capsid protein because of the ability of 1D7 to neutralize all the strains of FCV tested (PMID:1708228).
