- Application Supplier NoteThis original IgG2a rat clone can be used to detect and analyze the presence of perlecan. The specificity towards this protein has been confirmed using immunoprecipitation (Couchman, Ljubimov, 1989; PMID: 2477673). The perlecan was confirmed to reside in the basement membrane by means of immunofluorescence using this antibody (Couchman, Ljubimov, 1989; PMID: 2477673). Immunohistochemical staining confirmed that this clone also cross-reacts with other mammalian creatures (Couchman, Ljubimov, 1989; PMID: 2477673). In addition, one group used western blotting and immunohistochemical staining to detect significant differences in weight and distribution of antibodies across heparan sulfate proteoglycans (Tingboe et al., 2006; PMID: 16459119).
