The binding affinity of this antibody to human IL-1R1 was determined using kinetic exclusion assay. It was reported that the human IgG1 version of this antibody binds human IL-1R1 with a binding affinity of 3.05 pM. The human IgG1 version of this antibody shows the inhibition of IL-1beta induced IL-8 release from HeLa cells. The IgG2 version was capable of inhibition of IL-1beta and IL-alpha induced IL-8 release from HeLa cells. The binding of this antibody was capable of inhibiting binding of IL-1Ra binding to IL-1R1. This antibody was reported to inhibit huIL-1beta-induced IL-8 release from CYNOM-K1 cells. The human IgG1 and IgG2 versions of this antibody was capable of inhibiting IL-6 production in human whole blood. The IgG2 version also blocked IL-1 activity (US8298533).
