This antibody can bind a fusion protein of human IL-20 with Gaussia luciferase in a GLuc-sandwich ELISA. This antibody was capable of neutralizing recombinant IL-20 and IL-20 receptor mediated STAT3 activation and rhIL-20 and IL-20 receptor mediated induction of KZ136-NLuc Reporter Gene. The in vivo therapeutic effect of this antibody was studies using an ear inflammation assay in 8 weeks old C57BL/6J mice by intradermal injection of human cytokine IL-20. This antibody was successful in neutralizing the injected human IL-20 in a mouse model (US20170189524). The IgG4 version of this antibody binds human IL-20 with a very high binding affinity of Kd= 91fM (PMID: 27426947).
