    The antibody is specific for vaccinia virus. The antibody does not recognize the L1 antigen. Vaccinia virus is a large, complex, enveloped virus belonging to the poxvirus family.

    The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis. The antibody was assayed as both capture and tracer in MAGPIX bead-based sandwich assays for the detection of vaccinia virus and a limit of detection (LOD) of 4x10^5 pfu/ml was achieved (Walper et al., 2014; PMID: 25211488).
