This antibody binds an epitope in the hTfR1 binding site of the GP1 subunit of envelope glycoprotein of Junin virus (JUNV). Junin virus also known as Argentinian mammarenavirus is an arenavirus in the Mammarenavirus genus which causes Argentine Haemorrhag

This antibody can bind GP1 of Junin virus (XJ45 strain) in an ELISA. This antibody was used for the indirect immunofluorescent staining of Junin virus infected Vero cells. This antibody reacts with Junin GP1 in immunoprecipitation and western blot. This antibody can also neutralize Junin virus in an in vitro assay (PMID: 2471803). This antibody shows potent neutralization of Candid #1 strain in a plaque neutralization assay (PMID: 27044104).
