- Scientific DescriptionLamina-associated polypeptide 2 (LAP2) is a protein that is encoded by the TMPO gene in human. LAP2 is a protein involved in the induction of CD90 in the thymus. It plays a role in the regulation of nuclear architecture by binding lamin B1 and chromosomes. LAP2 may help direct the assembly of the nuclear lamina and thereby help maintain the structural organization of the nuclear envelope. It involves in the control of initiation of DNA replication through its interaction with NAKAP95.
