This antibody reacts with alpha-helical molecules and is anti-nuclear (binds DNA). Specifically, it binds streptococcal M-protein (type 5), human myosin, actin, tropomyosin, and troponin.

This antibody binds myosin at a low relative avidity, as determined in a competitive ELISA (Mertens et al., 2000; PMID: 11282394).
