Overview
- SupplierAbsolute Antibody
- Product NameAnti-M protein, serotype 5 [36.2.2]
- Delivery Days Customer9
- Antibody SpecificityThis antibody reacts with alpha-helical molecules. Specifically, it binds streptococcal M-protein (type 5), human myosin, actin, keratin, tropomyosin, troponin, laminin, ganglioside, glycophorin M,N
- Application Supplier NoteThis antibody reacts with human heart cells and whole streptococci (group A, M type 5), as shown in an ELISA, and human heart cells, human sarcolemma, and group A streptococcal membranes, as shown in a WB (Cunnigham et al., 1984; PMID: 6384047). This antibody reacts with the heavy chain of skeletal muscle myosin. Specifically, it reacts with light meromyosin fragments, as shown in WB and competitive inhibition assays (Cunningham et al., 1986; PMID: 3510006). This antibody labels the cytoplasm of epidermal cells and epidermal appendages in normal and psoriatic skin, as shown by immunofluorescent staining (Swerlick et al., 1986; PMID: 3525693). This antibody binds CV (B3), as shown in an ELISA; neutralizes PV-1 and CV (B3), as shown in a plaque-reduction neutralization assay; and is cytotoxic to rat heart cells and fibroblasts, as shown in a cytotoxicity assay (Cunningham et al., 1992; PMID: 1311095). This antibody reacts with retinal S-antigen (S-Ag), as shown in an ELISA (Lerner et al., 1995; PMID: 8722579). This antibody was found to be cytotoxic for rat heart cells (Antone et al., 1997 ;PMID: 9548482). This antibody binds myosin at a high relative avidity, as determined in a competitive ELISA. (Mertens et al., 2000; PMID: 11282394).
