This antibody is highly specific for binding to Machupo virus and does not cross react with Junin virus. This antibody is capable of binding MACV in an ELISA. This antibody neutralized HIV-1-based virus particles, pseudotyped with full-length MACV GP and rLCMV/MACV-GP chimeric viruses in an in vitro neutralization assay with an IC50 of 0.004 microg/mL and 13.0 microg/mL respectively (PMID: 35315691).
