Overview
- SupplierAbsolute Antibody
- Product NameAnti-polymorphic epithelial mucin [CTM01]
- Delivery Days Customer7
- Antibody SpecificityThis antibody is specific for the glycoprotein polymorphic epithelial mucin (MUC1), expression of which is elevated in a broad range of solid tumours of epithelial origin.
- Application Supplier NoteThe binding specificity of this antibody for HMFGM has been confirmed in ELISA analysis (Aboud-Pirak et al, 1988). Once bound to its antigen on the plasma membrane of human breast carcinoma MCF-7, this antibody is rapidly endocytosed and delivered to lysosomes for digestion, as established in radiolabelling and fractionation studies (Aboud-Pirak et al, 1988). An 111lndium-labeled human-engineered form of this antibody has been shown to be a suitable carrier for cytotoxic agents in ovarian carcinoma patients (van Hof et al, 1996). Equally, when conjugated to calicheamicin amide, this antibody can target the antitumor antibiotic into MUC1-positive solid tumors (Hamann et al, 2005).
