This antibody was used for in situ localization of potato virus Y NIa protein using immunofluorescence staining. The staining showed the accumulation of the NIa protein in both nucleus and cytoplasm. The binding characterization of the antibody was done using ELISA (PMID: 16884787). In vivo, this antibody was able to detect different forms of the NIa protein including precursors and cleavage products and also able to inhibit the cleavage of the polyprotein detected in the semipurified NI (PMID: 11556707).
