- Scientific DescriptionDNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 3-like is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the DNMT3L Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase beta is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PTPRB gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. PTPRB plays an important role in blood vessel remodeling and angiogenesis. It is not necessary for the initial formation of blood vessels, but is essential for their maintenance and remodeling. PTPRB can induce dephosphorylation of TEK/TIE2, CDH5/VE-cadherin and KDR/VEGFR-2. It regulates angiopoietin-TIE2 signaling in endothelial cells.
