The specificity of the original format of the antibody for NSP-C was established in an ELISA assay. Immunofluorescence analysis of COS-1 cells, transfected with NSP-C cDNA, showed staining of the endoplasmic reticulum with the antibody. The antibody detected NSP-C by western blot analysis (Senden et al., 1996; PMID: 8900485). This antibody was used for immunohistochemistry for the detection of NSP-C on lung carcinoid, atypical carcinoid of the lung, SCLC and squamous cell carcinoma (Senden et al., 1997; PMID: 9227337).
