Due to its flavivirus group reactivity, this antibody has been used in a range of immunoassays for the detection of flaviviruses. The reactivity of this antibody with purified SLE virus has been confirmed in ELISA analysis (Roehrig et al, 1983), while Hunt et al (2002) have used this antibody in a West Nile virus antigen capture ELISA. This antibody has also been included in IgM antibody-capture [MAC]-ELISAs for the diagnosis of arboviral infections (Johnson et al, 2000; Martin et al, 2000).
