- Protein NameHAUS augmin-like complex subunit 7
- Scientific DescriptionThis gene encodes a subunit of the augmin complex, which regulates centrosome and mitotic spindle integrity, and is necessary for the completion of cytokinesis. The encoded protein was identified by interaction with ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase 37. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Key regulator of mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU) that senses calcium level via its EF-hand domains. MICU1 and MICU2 form a disulfide-linked heterodimer that stimulates and inhibits MCU activity, depending on the concentration of calcium. MICU1 acts both as an activator or inhibitor of mitochondrial calcium uptake. HAUS7 (HAUS Augmin Like Complex Subunit 7) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with HAUS7 include Vas Deferens, Congenital Bilateral Aplasia Of. Among its related pathways are Regulation of PLK1 Activity at G2/M Transition and Organelle biogenesis and maintenance. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include thioesterase binding. Contributes to mitotic spindle assembly, maintenance of centrosome integrity and completion of cytokinesis as part of the HAUS augmin-like complex.
