Scientific Description
ARMET/MANF proteins regulate the survival of dopaminergic neurons in the ventral midbrain and modulate GABAergic transmission to dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra. It enhances GABA inhibitory currents and inhibits cell proliferation while preventing ER stress-induced cell death.
