C1orf33/MRTO4 is an integral component of ribosome assembly, binds to the 60S presubunit in the nucleolus, and is subsequently replaced by P0 during maturation, contributing to ribosome biogenesis. It interacts with MINAS-60, a replacement for the RBM10 open reading frame.
