Carbamoylcholine, also known as carbachol, is an analog of acetylcholine that activates acetylcholine receptors (AChR). Carbamoylcholine is an agonist of both nicotinic (nAChR) and muscarinic (mAChR) receptors. - Non-selective cholinergic agonist that is resistant to the action of cholinesterases; inhibits apoptotic death of cultured neurons, and may induce apoptosis in thymocytes.
