- Scientific DescriptionIntercellular Adhesion Molecule-1 (ICAM-1, CD54) binds the leukocyte integrins LFA-1 and Mac1. CD54 expression is weak on leukocytes, epithelial and resting endothelial cells, as well as some other cell types, but expression can be stimulated by IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, IL-1beta and LPS. Soluble CD54 is found in a biologically active form in serum, probably as a result of proteolytic cleavage from the cell surface, and is elevated in patients with various inflammatory syndromes such as septic shock, LAD, cancer and transplantation. - Protein. The extracellular domain of human CD54 [ICAM-1] (aa 28-480) is fused to the N-terminus of the Fc region of a mutant human IgG1. Source: CHO cells. Endotoxin content: <0.06EU/microg protein (LAL test; Lonza). Lyophilized from 0.2microm-filtered solution in PBS. Purity: >98% (SDS-PAGE).
