  • Scientific Description
    The centromere is a specialized chromatin domain, present throughout the cell cycle, that acts as a platform on which the transient assembly of the kinetochore occurs during mitosis. All active centromeres are characterized by the presence of long arrays of nucleosomes in which CENPA (MIM 117139) replaces histone H3 (see MIM 601128). MLF1IP, or CENPU, is an additional factor required for centromere assembly. - This is a CENPU Polyclonal Antibody from Reddot Biotech. This product is for Research Use Only.

Western blot using GeneTex's affinity purified anti-MLF1IP / PBIP1 antibody shows detection of endogenous MLF1IP protein (a tier of four modified protein bands indicated by the arrowheads) in lysates of Hela cells (- lane). Cells treated with MLF1IP / PBIP1 shRNA (+ lane) show no staining. The identities of the higher and lower molecular weight bands are unknown. Primary antibody was used at 1:1,000.
