C8G/C8 gamma is the gamma subunit of the C8 protein of the complement system and is mainly localized in brain astrocytes. C8G/C8 gamma is a neuroinflammation inhibitor that interacts with S1PR2 and jointly antagonizes the pro-inflammatory activity of S1P in microglia.
