ERB 041 is a potent and selective estrogen receptor bèta (ERbèta) agonist, with IC50s of 5.4, 3.1, and 3.7 nM for ERbèta in humans, rats, and mice, respectively.ERB 041 is more than 200 times more selective for ERbèta than for ERalfa. In addition, ERB 041 inhibits the WNT/bèta-catenin signaling pathway and induces apoptosis in ovarian cancer cells.
