FHIT protein has multiple enzymatic activities, including dinucleoside triphosphohydrolase, adenylate sulfatase and adenosine 5-monophosphate amidase, and functions as a tumor suppressor. It regulates CTNNB1-mediated transcriptional activation, affecting key genes such as CCND1 and BIRC5.
