  • Scientific Description
FTO (Fat mass-and obesity-associated gene) is the responsible gene for mouse fused toes mutation. An association between FTO genotype and type 2 diabetes has been confirmed. The presence of the FTO rs9939609 A-allele was found to be positively correlated with other symptoms of the metabolic syndrome, including higher fasting insulin, glucose, triglycerides, and lower HDL-cholesterol. - Protein. Mouse FTO (aa 2-502) is fused at the N-terminus to a His-tag. Source: E. coli. Endotoxin content: <1EU/microg purified protein (LAL test; Lonza). Liquid. 0.2microm-filtered solution in 55mM TRIS-Cl, pH 8.2, containing 150mM NaCl. Purity: >90% (SDS-PAGE).
