- Protein NameGranzyme D
- Scientific DescriptionGranzyme D is a member of the granzyme family of the serine proteases which plays a role in the induction of apoptosis. T cells, lymphohematopoietic stromal cells, and granulated metrial gland cells express granzyme D, but the function of granzyme D is unknown. Previous studies reported that granzyme D is developmentally regulated during pregnancy together with granzymes E, F, and G in granulated metrial gland cells and is upregulated by IL-2 and IL-15. Granzyme D was also suggested to have a role in stromal cell-lymphocyte interactions.
