Hexamethonium bromide is a peripherally-acting nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent that acts as a non-competitive antagonist of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). Formulations containing hexamethonium were previously used in the treatment of hypertension.
