  • Scientific Description
Characteristics: This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus. The protein has a calculated MW of 16.0 kDa. The protein migrates as 16 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE). Description: Fatty acid-binding protein 5 (FABP5), is also known as Fatty acid-binding protein, epidermal (E-FABP), Psoriasis-associated fatty acid-binding protein homolog (PA-FABP). FABP5 / E-FABP belongs to the calycin superfamily and fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family. FABP5 / E-FABP is highly expressed in psoriatic skin. FABP5 / E-FABP has high specificity for fatty acids and has highest affinity for C18 chain length. FABP5 may be involved in keratinocyte differentiation.
