Intercellular adhesion molecule 5

The ICAM-5 protein functions as a ligand for the leukocyte adhesion protein LFA-1 (integrin alpha-L/beta-2) and mediates the cell adhesion process. As a member of the ICAM family, ICAM-5 interacts with LFA-1 and is critical for immune cell adhesion and communication.
