  • Scientific Description
Interleukin 6 receptor (IL-6R; CD126) is a type I cytokine receptor, which is a protein complex consisting of an IL-6 receptor subunit (IL-6R) and interleukin 6 signal transducer glycoprotein 130 (gp130). It is a potent pleiotropic cytokine that regulates cell growth and differentiation and plays an important role in immune response. Dysregulated production of IL-6 and IL-6R are implicated in the pathogenesis of many diseases, such as multiple myeloma, autoimmune diseases and prostate cancer. - Protein. The extracellular domain of mouse IL-6R (aa 20-357) is fused to the N-terminus of the Fc region of mouse IgG2a. Source: CHO cells. Endotoxin content: <0.06EU/microg protein (LAL test; Lonza). Lyophilized from 0.2microm-filtered solution in PBS. Purity: >98% (SDS-PAGE).
