Western blot using GeneTexs anti-Mouse IL-17F antibody shows detection of a band ~18 kDa in size corresponding to recombinant mouse IL-17F. Recombinant mouse IL-17F was loaded on to an SDS-PAGE gel at 0.25 microg and after separation was transferred to nitrocellulose. The membrane was blocked with 1% BSA in TBST for 30 min at RT, followed by incubation with primary antibody diluted 1:1,000 in 1% BSA in TBST overnight at 4oC. After washes, the blot was reacted with secondary antibody HRP Goat anti-Rabbit IgG antibody diluted 1:40,000 in blocking buffer) for 30 min at RT followed by reation with FemtoMax Chemiluminescent substrate. Data was collected using Bio-Rad VersaDocR 4000 MP imaging system.

- Scientific DescriptionIL17-F (also known as ML1, ML-1, IL17F, and IL24) is a cytokine that shares sequence similarity with IL17. This cytokine is expressed by activated T cells, and has been shown to stimulate the production of several other cytokines, including IL6, IL8, and CSF2/GM_CSF. This cytokine is also found to inhibit the angio-genesis of endothelial cells and induce endothelial cells to produce IL2, TGFB1/ GFB, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1. IL-17F plays a role in the induction of neutrophilia in the lungs and in the exacerbation of antigen-induced pulmonary allergic inflammation.
