    Madecassic acid was isolated from Centella asiatica (umbelliferae). Madecassic acid showed inhibition of iNOS, COX-2, TNF-alfa, IL-1beta and IL-6, and had anti-inflammatory effect by down-regulation of NF-kappaB activation in RAW 264.7 macrophages.
