Meglutol is a lipid-lowering agent. Meglutol can reduces cholesterol, triglycerides, serum beta-lipoprotein, and phospholipids, and inhibits the activity of HMG-CoA reductase (a rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis).
