DNA damage activates TAK1. PSC27 cells were treated with bleomycin, an inducer of DNA strand breaks, with or without increasing concentrations of the TAK1 inhibitor 5Z-7. Cell lysates were immunoprecipitated with an anti-p-TAK1 antibody and subjected to the in vitro kinase assay with MKK6 (OriGene TP304481) as a substrate and radio-labeled ATP.
