Meropenem (SM 7338) sodium is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic that exhibits activity against both susceptible and resistant strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae (MIC values of 0.02-0.06 mg/mL), Haemophilus influenzae (MIC values of 0.03-0.12 mg/mL), and Moraxella catarrhalis (MIC values of 0.015-0.12 mg/mL).
