Mito Red is a vital dye and mitochondrial stain that can be used to detect and evaluate mitochondrial function and status. Mito Red accumulates in mitochondria, and its fluorescence intensity is positively correlated with mitochondrial membrane potential. When the mitochondrial membrane potential increases, the fluorescence signal of Mito Red increases[1].
