N-Benzoylcytidine is a substrate for uracil-cytidine kinase 1 (UCK1) and UCK2. N-Benzoylcytidine can be used to synthesize 2-OH protective groups for solid-phase RNA synthesis, as well as synthetic oligonucleotides for UV induction and targeted gene silencing in zebrafish embryos[1][2][3].
